Commissions

In addition to bodies of work released independently, I accept a handful of commissions every year. Please see below for more information and a form to contact me with your vision.

I’m interested in a commission. How do I get started?

Exciting! Please read through this FAQ and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. I will respond within one business week.

How much does a commission cost?

Below is the current range of pricing on commission pieces for 2024. Pieces can vary between 30” and 40” on each side, but that is the smallest starting size currently.

30” x 30” original oil painting: $2400
30” x 40” original oil painting: $3200

How does payment work?

Once we’ve finalized the details of your piece, there will be an initial non-refundable deposit of 20%, which can be paid via Paypal or bank transfer.

The remaining part of the payment will be divided in half, with the first part due one week after beginning the piece and the final payment due upon receipt of your painting. Taxes will be applied where applicable.

How much time does it take?

Since I work in oil, once painting is finished, it will take an additional 3-4 weeks for the painting to dry.

How does shipping work?

A shipping estimate will be provided and will be part of the discussion around the size of the work. You will pay for the shipping costs. We will have a box or crate constructed and we will cover the costs of all the packing materials.

Will I need to frame the artwork?

I paint with gallery-wrapped canvas, which means the painting will be 1 ½” thick. The sides will be painted and the piece will be ready to hang. You can also frame the work if you’d like. Please feel free to ask for framing suggestions and tips!

Will I need to do anything to protect the painting once I receive it?

Your work will be finished with a light varnish coating that includes UV protection.

What if I am unhappy with the final piece?

For commissions, it is my ultimate goal for you to fall in love with the piece you are investing in. I keep lines of communication open during this process and will update you as I move through the initial sketch and allow for tweaks to the final work if needed. If the piece really doesn't align in the end, I always maintain integrity to not force anyone into anything they don’t fully want to do, so the painting will stay in my inventory and you will receive your money back, minus your initial 20% deposit.

If you agree to the terms above and would like to start the process, please fill out the form below. Once it is received I will get back to you within one business week with availability, details on pricing, and next steps. I look forward to hearing from you!
